Let me set the scene.
I had a perfectly planned calendar. A suitcase packed for my Mastermind retreat. A detailed to-do list with every box checked. You’d think I’d feel calm, focused, and ready to go.
But instead?
I felt scattered.
Because in addition to prepping for my trip, I was also creating a second mental itinerary – one for everyone staying behind. Instructions for school pickups. Lunch routines. Cheer schedules. Allergy meds. All the things that would usually live in my brain… now had to be written down for someone else.
And while I love my husband (and my kids totally prefer him over me), the truth is this: I’m the manager of everything.
I’m the CEO of my business.
And I’m the CEO of my household.
And it’s A LOT.
The Hidden Reason You Still Feel Exhausted
If you’re a woman running a business, raising kids, and doing your best to “keep all the balls in the air,” you probably know what I’m talking about.
You’ve got the calendar.
You’ve got the time blocks.
You’ve got the to-do list.
But you still end the day feeling like nothing really got done. You feel exhausted. Scattered. Frustrated. And maybe even a little resentful.
So here’s the truth:
The problem isn’t your planner. The problem is the invisible load you’re carrying.
You're not just managing tasks. You're managing people. You're managing feelings. You're managing expectations, meals, school reminders, snacks, and surprise events no one told you about until the night before.
And that’s what’s draining your capacity.
Why Busyness Isn’t the Real Problem
We live in a culture that equates busyness with success. We wear our overfilled calendars like a badge of honor. But being busy doesn’t mean you’re being productive. And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re making progress toward the goals that matter most.
You can have the perfect planner and still feel like a failure.
You can check all the boxes and still feel like you’ve accomplished nothing.
Because the emotional and mental labor you’re carrying – that isn’t on your to-do list. And it’s what’s making you feel like you’re falling short.
The Time Leaks You Don’t Even See
Even if your calendar is structured, there are likely “leaks” draining your time and energy.
Here are a few common ones I see with my clients:
Rewriting the same to-do list multiple times
Using sticky notes and scraps of paper that get lost
Constantly checking your inbox or DMs
Saying yes to things you don’t actually want to do
Multitasking your way through everything – work, family, rest
These leaks might seem small, but over time, they add up to a massive drain on your focus and energy.
And they leave you feeling like you’re pouring from an empty cup.
So… What Does Work?
It’s not about doing more.
It’s about doing what matters most – and letting go of everything else.
Here’s what I started doing instead:
I created daily rhythms and routines that fit my energy (not just my schedule).
I stopped saying yes to everything just to “prove” I could handle it all.
I prioritized deep work during the times I’m most productive (hint: it’s not the afternoon).
I gave myself permission to rest without guilt.
I built my business to work around my life – not the other way around.
The result? I now work four hours a day, four days a week. Most days, my laptop closes at 1:00 PM. Fridays are for groceries, planning, and maybe a lunch date with my husband.
It’s Time to Reclaim Your Capacity
If you’ve been stuck in hustle mode…
If you’ve been busy but not making progress…
If you’ve been organized but still overwhelmed…
You are not broken. You’re just busy with the wrong things.
And I can help you fix that.
I’m hosting a live workshop where I’ll show you exactly how I cut my workweek in half – without sacrificing results. You’ll learn how to build sustainable rhythms that work for your life, not just your planner.
You Don’t Need Another Planner (But If You Want One…)
Let’s be honest… a new planner won’t solve this problem on its own.
But if you’re looking for one that actually supports your rhythms, I designed the Slay Your Schedule planner just for you. It’s simple, strategic, and built for ambitious women juggling real life.
