baby’s new home

I have absolutely LOVED planning the nursery for our little one!  It is by far my favorite room in the house, mostly because I was able to start from scratch.  This is what it looked like previously:

This room was basically our room to store a whole bunch of junk, obviously.  It was also painted a light purple that I hated with Disney Princess decals on the wall, which I also loathed.  I wanted something fun and not themed in any certain way – something that could grow with her so I wouldn’t be shelling out a bunch of money in a few years to redecorate her room again.

One thing I knew with decorating the room:  I wanted polka dots!  I LOVE polka dots and was fortunate enough to find a crib set at Pottery Barn Kids that I absolutely fell in love with.

After I found the crib sheet, I used that as the basis for the rest of the room.  I didn’t want all polka dots because I thought that would be overkill, so I focused on using lime green, bright pink, brown, and white throughout the room.

Anytime I walk past her room, I stop and stare just a little bit.  It is by far my favorite room in the house.  I can’t wait until there a baby sleeping in the crib and I can rock her back to sleep in the rocking chair!
