30-DAY HABIT CHALLENGE: DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Last week, I started something I haven't done in a long time...⠀

No, I didn't run. #injuredrunner

(You can follow my stories for more info on how I’m recovering from a back injury…)

Instead, I opened up my devotional app (I use the She Works His Way app) and sat in silence on the couch to dive in to the Word of God.⠀

I am a born + raised Christian (Lutheran if you're nosy). I went to parochial school from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I was active in our church handbell choir through high school + joined the adult choir post college. I was a K-Life counselor for a few years in college. Most of my family is in the ministry.⠀

But, just because I do all the "Christian" things, doesn't mean I've been very good at practicing them. Or even been a good example to my kids regarding my Faith.⠀

Lately, my Faith and my practice in my Faith has been pretty pitiful. I let MY wants, needs, and emotions cloud my vision of what God truly intended for me. It was almost as if I needed to hit rock bottom to be reminded that He is in control.⠀

So, I decided to take on a new 30 day challenge through August (and beyond)...⠀

Starting my morning with a devotion.⠀

Sure, it sounds simple, but it's something I know I have been lacking in my faith for some time. I rarely pray. I rarely open His Word. And honestly, it has impacted my Faith.⠀

I would love for you to join along with me! There's no special devotion you have to do - just choose something and start your day with it for the rest of the month.⠀

I know many of us are looking for that Faith right now - maybe this is what you need to restore it!
