this + that

This weekend has been ca-razy.  So, I figured it would be another "this + that" for ya'll...1. Our house is officially on the market!  I thought going through the buying process 7+ years ago was stressful, but selling a house is much, much worse.  We got a call Saturday morning for our first showing, which only gave us an hour to do some last minute cleaning and decluttering before running out the door.  We spent our Saturday afternoon visiting some display home (squeeeee!) and the rest of the time at the mall.  It's weird to think know that there are random people walking through your house and looking at your stuff.  We ended up having 3 showings this weekend, so not too bad.  So far, no biters though.  Boo.2. One great run can make up for one terrible run.  I had one of the worst runs I've had in awhile on Thursday.  My plan was to run 4 x 1 mile repeats with 800m jogs in between; however, I felt absolutely terrible Thursday morning and ended up cutting it down to doing only 3 and at a slower pace than I had planned.  It was really discouraging since I had done easy runs all week and felt well rested.  Well, running wise, not sleep wise.Saturday morning, I had a Fast Finish Long Run planned, meaning 60 minutes (or 8 miles) with the last 10 to 20 minutes at a fast pace.  I didn't really have a plan going in, except trying to negative split.  Of course, I'm still running on the treadmill since the sidewalks are still snow/ice covered, so my goal was to try to start fairly easy and just keep upping my pace as I went.I started out a little too fast and ended up at my "half way" speed less than half way through my run.  But, I went with it and ended up about 10 seconds slower than my 5K pace for the last mile (6:40/mile pace) and still felt great.  It's the fasted 8 mile run I've ever run!  And it was on the treadmill!  Totally made up for my crappy Thursday run!

3.  I spent last night in tears after watching the series finally of my favorite Disney Channel show.  About a year ago, we started watching Disney Channel so MacKenna had something fun and age appropriate to watch on TV.  I absolutely fell in love with Good Luck Charlie soon after.  It is such a cute show and totally makes me want to have 5 kids (guess we would need to get to work on number 2 then, huh?).  Well, last night was the final episode, and I can't deny that I cried a bit.  Thank goodness Disney Channel plays reruns all the time, otherwise I don't know what I'd do.  Friends isn't nearly played often enough on TBS, so Good Luck Charlie is my fall back.  Maybe I should start finding new shows to watch...

4.  I'm trying to find ways to increase my protein intake.  After looking at my diet (and having a reader weigh in on my nutrition), I am realizing I really, really need to increase the amount of protein in my diet.  This is especially difficult as a vegetarian, but I know that it's possible.  I have been adding fish into my diet, but I try to limit it to 1 to 2 times a week.  I'm not a big egg person either, so I'm still trying to think of other ways that are plant-based to boost my fullness so I'm not a hunger monster all afternoon.  I seriously need some suggestions...

5.  I might actually work a full week this week.  That's debatable though.  The temps are supposed to get into the mid 50s this week (WOOHOO!), but there is some freezing rain in the forecast for this morning (I am writing this Sunday night, so I don't know yet) until about noon.  Freezing rain, busses, and rural roads just do not mix, so we shall see.  It's President's Day and we were supposed to have it off anyway, but instead are making up one of our snow days today.  Wouldn't that just be ironic...
