pinterest-ing monthly: january

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to actually start utilizing the things I’ve been pinning on Pinterest.  While I don’t spend a ton of time on Pinterest, I very rarely actually do or use the things I have pinned.  Sure, I have cooked a couple of recipes, but I only have 2 boards that have anything to do with food.  Why am I not doing any of the other things I’ve pinned?!  So, this is my attempt to start really organizing, cleaning, styling myself, and crafting utilizing all those fabulous pins from Pinterest.

One of my other resolutions was to get more organized, so I wanted to start the year off right, and Pinterest sure helped with that.  We now are proud “owners” of a command center in our kitchen, and I’ve started storing bills and receipts in ways that are working much better for me.

I really, really want to start making and crafting gifts and decorations for our house.  I love how homemade things give a nice personal touch but are also much cheaper too.  Last month, I made our parents Mistle-Toe plates that I think turned out beautifully!  And I’ve bought the supplies necessary to make a new wreath for our door.

Of course, I cooked a few recipes too, including this delicious Roasted Cauliflower Soup from Two Peas and Their Pod.  Loved it!  And it was pretty easy to make too!  And I made these oven tacos last week – vegetarian style, of course!  I will be making tacos this way from now on!

 

I think this month was pretty successful!  My goal was 1 thing per month (recipes don’t count) and I went above and beyond that!  Can’t wait to finish up my wreath and hopefully knock a few more pins off their boards! ;)
