death of the mixer
It’s a sad, sad day in the VH Kitchen…
My KitchenAid mixer has officially died. It’s been on it’s last leg for awhile now, making crunching noises every time I would turn it on to whip up a batch of cookies. However, I’ve been in denial ever since the motor started puttering out on me. I didn’t want to admit that my favorite kitchen appliance was about to go ka-put.
Last night, I was mixing up some of Mama Pea’s famous peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough balls to take as a thank you to my OB’s office for taking care of the 3 of us for the past 10 months.
Things started off just fine – butter, sugars, and peanut butter in the bowl ready to mix. I flipped on my beloved mixer and started to mix. Once things got a little mixed, I went to turn up the speed and… nothing. One speed. And that one speed kept getting slower… and slower… and slower. Until eventually, nothing.
I shed a little tear for my beloved blender and then wallowed my sorrows in a Fritz’s concrete.
Pumpkin + brownie bites mixed in their delicious vanilla. The brownie bites didn’t do much for me flavor wise, but provided a great textural element. I think it needed either more of a chocolate flavor or some peanut butter mixed in. That would have made it.
It’s just too bad it didn’t fix my mixer problems…
Anyone else have the same issue with their mixer? I’ve only had my mixer 5 years and haven’t used it that much that would make it die so soon. So very sad…
