baby boy: 7 months
How about a change from talking about running to talking about this Big Boy?!Oh my goodness. I cannot believe how big he is getting - and that we are officially on the downward slope toward his first birthday. Not that it's a bad downward slope, just that we're closer to 1 now than when he was born. *sigh*EatingWhat a nice, surprising change from his big sister. Miles is an AWESOME eater! I don't want to talk about it too much since I will be doing Munchkin Meals next week, but I swear there is not a food this child does not like! He is eating really well and SCREAMS when we don't feed him fast enough or when he gets frustrated. Baby led weaning has been going really well, but we are also doing some spoon feeding with things like yogurt and applesauce (mostly because I was sick of having to wash him down after every meal). He eats 3 meals a day and they are good, full meals! Our only struggle is figuring out what to give him, but we're getting better. He is still nursing 4 times a day, at 7AM, 11AM, between 3 and 4PM, and 7PM. He is still nursing only on one side at a time, even though I was doing both sides last week to build back my supply after a weekend away. And he was spitting up everywhere. So, back to one at a time without any issues. He did have his first taste of formula while we were in Chicago since my in-laws fed them on their way to Branson. He was not a fan. But, with my huge stash built up this summer, I have a feeling we will be making it to one year exclusively breastfeeding! Woohoo!SleepingOur schedule was ALL thrown off last week, thanks to vacation, so right now, his sleep schedule is way off. Usually, he would take a 30-60 minute nap around 9 or 10 AM and then a longer nap in the afternoon. His afternoon nap is somewhat there, but we are struggling with the morning nap. I'm hoping to get him back on a good schedule next week before I go back to school (ugh), but otherwise, I know our awesome babysitter will get him on a great one! ;)PersonalityWell, we are learning that Miles is definitely going to be a handful, but in a good way. He is so curious and nosy. He does not stay put for more than a minute and is into EVERYTHING. His favorites right now are electric cords, the cat toys, and shoes. He also likes to try to find flat, hard surfaces to bang on. His new nickname is Bam Bam, just because he loves to bang on things. He is still the happiest little guy though. He can be in the middle of crying and if I do something silly, he was just burst out laughing. He is extremely easy going and just an overall good baby. I feel very lucky!Big SisterMacKenna is still our go-to for making Miles smile. He absolutely adores her, and she is getting to the point where she is starting to play with him and want to spend time with him. But, she's also starting to find that he doesn't understand sharing or being nice. We have to keep reminding her that he is little and doesn't understand, but I have a feeling she is going to be really annoyed with him once he really starts getting into her stuff. He's definitely going to be that typical little brother!Other StuffWeight: He was down a few ounces at his 6 month appointment, but I have a feeling he has gained a good pound since then with the amount that he eats!Diapers: Cloth for the most part, but he's a peanut and still in size 2 for disposables.Clothes: Mostly 3-6 month or 6 months, but we're getting closer to the 6-9 month stage. They are still just a little too big on him though.Likes: Army crawling everywhere, EATING, cords, shoes, banging on the floor or any hard, flat surface, putting everything into his mouthDislikes: The car seat is still his least favorite thing, but he's also not a big fan of baths, especially when Mama pours water over his head.Firsts: Sitting independently, army crawling, up on hands and knees (and close to crawling), first night (and weekend) away from MamaOh, my little Miles. You are such a cute, sweet little guy - and are certainly going to keep me on my toes. I love you so much!
